I had plans to post this on Alan's actual birthday, the 9th of October, but with my Dad's passing I was very preoccupied and wasn't online much. Despite being a few days late, every word still stands true ...
30 years ago, Heavenly Father decided that the world needed a little something more .. so He took some laughter, added some class and integrity, sprinkled in a little romance, threw in some handsome and ... voila! A sweet baby boy was born, and he grew and grew until he was a handsome thirty year old man who has me quite smitten.
This year, Thanksgiving was tough. It's hard to be thankful when your heart is broken. Yet somehow, despite all the sadness, this man was able to keep me smiling. And not only did he make me smile, but his mere presence was such a powerful reminder to me that I have much to be thankful for. I am so lucky to have him in my life.
