11.11.11.

One of my favorite scrapbookers and bloggers, Elizabeth Kartchner, issued this challenge a few days ago - take a photo on November 11th, 2011 at 11:11 and capture what you were doing at that very moment. Usually, eleven o'clock means that I am frantically running around my office trying to get in touch with clients and organize everything for our afternoon shipments ... but today is Remembrance Day which means the office is closed, I got to sleep in and I have a whole day ahead of me to do what I please.

I had big plans for today - wake up, clean the kitchen, do some reading, get groceries, bake cookies, have dinner with my boyfriend, rent a movie, unwind - but I got a little side-tracked. I woke up, did a load of dishes and then wandered into my living room to do some reading. And that's where I've been for the past two hours, cuddled up on the couch with a cup of tea reading my Bible. As most of you know, I'm a Christian and the Bible really is my favorite book in the whole wide world. It's like a love letter from God to His children, and it's hard to explain how comforting it is to read. I've had a rough couple of days this week, and I was really thirsty for the peace that only this Book can bring me.

So the dishes are still in the sink. The groceries have yet to be done. The cookies are probably not gonna get baked. I might end up serving my boyfriend take-out for dinner. But this is exactly where I want to be. Right here, reading God's love letter, soaking up every word. This is exactly where I need to be.

"For the grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever."
- Isaiah 40:8
