It's Been Fun

I am *so* not ready for my Mom to leave tomorrow morning. We have had such a great week here together and managed to do SO much ... strolling the seawall, walking around Lost Lagoon, a horse-drawn carriage ride through Stanley Park, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a hike over on Bowen Island, shopping at Granville Market, watching the fireworks on the beach, etc etc. We were really blessed with INCREDIBLE weather and we certainly made the most of it! We even managed to get some scrapbooking done together.

Tomorrow she flies back to Montreal (booo!) and I go back to the regular 9-5. Thankfully, she's flying back out at Thanksgiving so I only have to wait three more months until I see her again. But honestly? I kind of miss her already. :(

Missing My Friends :o(

Today ... after a really rough morning with lots of stress ... I found myself missing this lovely lady:

It's days like today when all a girl wants is a friend who will gladly give her shoulder for you to cry on ... who will buy you a whole tub of ice-cream and not judge you for eating it all by yourself ... who will let you have a complete pity party and never once tell you to "snap out of it" or accuse you of being selfish. When all of your closest friends are miles and miles away, you realize how precious and important they really are and lucky blessed you were to have them living just a short car ride away.

Tonight, I'm feeling mopey and wishing I had my best friends around. So do me a favor. Give YOUR best friend a call and go out for coffee or go catch a movie. Do it for me and all the people like me who are missing their besties.

My Beautiful Family ...

I am blessed to come from the most beautiful family on the face of the planet! Last night, we had a pre-Christmas dinner and mini goodbye party for me, and they gave me the most BEAUTIFUL scrapbook ever! Every member of my family made a page wishing me good luck, documenting their favorite memories with me so far, etc. It was so precious and it really meant the world to me. My Nana's Tea Cups ♥

Yesterday, I had dinner at my Nana's house and she gave me an early house-warming present: four of her vintage tea cups! The first one was a gift she received at her wedding in 1938! They are all absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful intricate designs and 14K gold around the rims .... so very lovely!

... This last one is my personal favorite!

Girls' Night Out

On Friday night, four of us went to the Ceramic Cafe to celebrate the end of my semester at school and Tara's birthday. It was *SUCH* a fun night! I painted a giant jar in the shape of a cupcake, and you should have heard me squeal with delight when I saw it sitting on the shelf. It's meant to be used as a cookie jar, but I'm going to use mine to store flour in. Tara also did a cupcake jar, my mom painted a flower pot and Laura painted a mug with a frog on it. We ended the night around midnight with a trip to Dairy Queen ... be still my milkshake lovin' heart! Here are some photos from our girls' night out ...
