"It came like a winter snow ... quiet and soft and slow .."
I've never thought much of November. My favorite month has always been October and December has always held a special spot in my heart too, for obvious reasons. But November? Meh. I didn't have anything against November, but I certainly wasn't going to elevate it to "favorite month" status.
Growing up on the east coat, November meant the arrival of snow and slush and the bitter chill of winter without the magic of Christmas to compensate. Here on the west coast - or, at least, in my little corner of the west coast - November means rain. Lots of it. No, like seriously you guys, LOTS of it. And yet, despite the wet, damp yucky-ness that is my life for the next few weeks ... November is starting to grow on me.
I woke up this morning and flipped the calendar over to a new month, and felt an overwhelming sense of calm. The carefree, crazy days of summer are long behind me. The hectic, frantic, "oh my gosh there is just so much to do" of the holidays is looming on the horizon ... close enough to have me excited about the arrival of Christmas, but far enough away that I am nowhere near stressed about it. Today, stores will put away their ghost and goblins and replace them with snowmen and twinkling lights, nature will begin its shift from vibrant golds and oranges and reds to shades of humble gray, and for a few weeks the whole world will seem to walk in sync - peacefully strolling through everyday life without a care in the world.
There is calmness in November. It's like the underdog month of the calendar year - with no major holidays to prepare for and celebrate (at least for us Canadians who celebrate Thanksgiving in early October), November often slips by unnoticed. But this year, I noticed it. This year, I woke up and turned the calendar and for the first time ever I noticed thirty days of gentleness ahead of me. And this year, I will appreciate it.
Hello, November. Let's be friends.

confessions of a lame blogger ...
Okay, okay - I have been the world's most suckiest blogger ever! I'm sorry I neglected you, lovely little blog of mine, but that's what happens when life gets exciting and busy and full of good things. My days have been so full that when I get home, I can barely manage to brush my teeth nevermind come up with an entertaining post. But I'm back and I promise to try my very best to be a better blogger for the rest of the summer.
'Cause, ya know, I kind of like you blog. We've been friends for a long time and I'm not ready to say goodbye. So let's work this thing out, okay?
So, in a nutshell, here's what's been going on the world of Stephanie recently ...
I finally got to visit both Steveston and Deep Cove - two touristy, super sweet towns that I'd heard lots about but had never gotten the chance to see for myself. We sat on the pier in Steveston and looked for seals (they didn't come visit - boo!) and we ate honey glazed doughnuts in Deep Cove. They were both great and I can't wait to go back, but Horseshoe Bay remains my favorite.
I went to a Grease-Sing-Along at the Rio Theatre over on Commercial Drive with two of my favorite girly girls. You haven't lived until you've sung "Beauty School Drop Out" with a theatre full of people at two in the morning. Seriously. Best time ever.
My roomie got engaged!!!! So excited for her. A spring wedding is in the works.
I was treated to a fantastical, amazing, uber-delish meal at Boston Pizza. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but if you know me and know my love for Boston Pizza you understand why it's totally blog-worthy. Fettuccine jambalaya, be still my heart.
I let Boy drink from the same Starbucks cup as me and I didn't even flinch. That's love, folks. (Again ... if you know me and know how hardcore I am about drink-sharing and germs, you'll understand why this is a major relationship milestone)
I've been ridiculously tanned since the end of May and I didn't even try. Yup. Be jealous chicas.
My Mom and my Nana just booked flights to visit me! They'll be arriving in late July and I couldn't be happier. It'll be so nice to have some quality "family time" all together.
So all in all, life on the west coast is good. Scratch that, life on the west coast is GREAT. Not perfect, not 100% stress-free, not a completely bump free ride ... but great. Know what else is great? YOU. Ha. :)
Hope you're all having a good week

oh, hello March.

There are so many things I'd like to do this month. I'd like host a Saturday morning brunch for some of my closest girlfriends. I'd like to bake a raspberry pie. I'd like to spend a weekend with my sister doing outdoorsy things like skiing and snow-shoeing before the lush winter wonderland that is Whistler officially disappears for the year. Oh, and I'd like to buy my new fancy schmancy digital camera so I can get back to photographing + blogging about what I love most - my delightful west side neighborhood and my life in the city!
What are your goals for March? Better make 'em soon, the month will be over before you know it!

Life as a Grown-Up
When I was a little girl, I used to beg my Mom to buy me the "cool" band-aids with Disney characters on them. She never did. Her reasoning was that the Disney band-aids cost twice the price of regular band-aids and regular band-aids work just fine. No matter how much I pleaded or pouted, expensive cartoon band-aids were a major "no go" in our home. We were spoiled with lots of other things in childhood, but I could never get Mom to cave where overpriced band-aids were concerned. She would always come back with "when you're a grown-up and you have your own money, you can spend it on whatever you want."Fast-forward twenty years later, and I'm living on my own in my own apartment with a full-time job. I'm in charge of my own bank account and you had better believe there are Disney band-aids in my medicine cabinet! :)
Life as a grown-up. Gotta love it.

30 Days of Blogging
I stumbled across this fun challenged on Eva's blog, Lovers in a Dangerous Time. Basically the idea is to get to know your friends in blog-land a little bit better. Everyday, for 30 days, there are simple prompts that will get you writing about topics you might not usually cover in a typical blog post - things like habits you wish you didn't have, bucket lists, cravings, your day job, etc. It sounds like fun, so I'm joining in!
For day #1, the assignment is to post a recent photo of yourself and reveal 15 random facts. Easy peasy, right? Here is a recent photo of me (snapped about a month ago ... wait, is that recent?)... It was taken by the crazy talented Chelsea from CBR Photography.

And here are 15 random facts about me ...
1. I absolutely LOVE living in Vancouver and don't see myself moving anywhere anytime soon but, if I were to pack my bags and go, I'd probably move to London. Or Paris. Or Geneva. I would love to live in Europe someday, at least for a year or two.
2. Speaking of Europe, in university I applied to go on a student exchange to Geneva but pulled out at the last minute. Bottom line? I was a big chicken terrified of leaving my parents. That decision remains one of the biggest regrets of my life thus far.
3. I begin every day with a warm beverage - coffee, tea or hot chocolate, depending on my mood.
4. I am a history buff. I love reading historical novels, watching PBS documentaries, soaking up the facts. I even minored in history in university. In spite of all this, I'm absolutely terrible at remembering the dates of major historical events! I can remember the order that things happened and precise details of what took place, but the exact date? Forget it.
5. I can't wait to get married! :)
6. I can't wait to get pregnant! :)
7. My hair has been blonde, dark brown (almost black), red and every shade in between. Being a redhead was my absolute favorite. I'll be going red again one of these days.
8. I collect chandelier earrings (they're my favorite fashion accessory) and I refuse to wear necklaces because I think they make my neck look fat.
9. I cry every single time I watch How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.
10. I don't watch much TV these days but when I do plop down on the couch for some down time, I usually watch the Food Network or The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Don't judge me.
11. My favorite kinds of food are Italian and Thai.
12. My dream vacation is to go to the Santorini Islands in Greece.
13. I am known as the "cupcake queen" amongst my friends and can bake several kinds of yummy cupcakes. I have not, however, been able to conquer the art of icing and almost always end up using store-bought icing.
14. I'm the kind of person who washes her dishes immediately following a meal and can't fall asleep at night if there are still dirty dishes in the sink.
15. I waste way too much time on Facebook. What can I say?! It's the perfect place to procrastinate! :)
If you want to play along, just take a look at the daily prompts (Eva posted them all on her blog) and write your little heart out!

Sweet November.
My digital camera is still broken and I am too busy saving my pennies for Christmas presents to buy a new one ... but this little inconvenience has made me realize that my cell phone camera can take some pretty killer shots. I snapped that photo this evening, while sitting at the Starbucks closest to my apartment, sipping an eggnog latte (they're back! 'Tis the season!) and reading fashion magazines. It was a lovely way to unwind after a busy day at the office.November is off to a wonderful start. I know we're only 4 days in, but really - so far, it's been great! October was just crazy busy but November has crept in quietly, softly, and it seems the frantic pace of October is behind me. I'm sure when December arrives, I'll be overwhelmed with holiday preparations and shopping and trip planning ... but for now, I'm enjoying quiet evenings with people I love. It's really refreshing.
I was reading Kelly's blog today on my lunch break, and I definitely resonate with what she was saying. Happiness has hit me like a truck, too. Like her, my life is full of happy, with lots of "pinch me" moments. This autumn has reminded me that it really is the little things that make life so magical.
Little things like going to see Casablanca in black and white at the cinema with Grace, eating popcorn together and sitting there completely captivated by the wonder that is Ingrid Bergman. Little things like spontaneous sushi nights with Xinxin at our favorite sushi place on Sasamat Street, eating tuna tempura and swapping relationship advice. Little things like walking along Granville Street in the morning and seeing the fog lift, revealing the snow-cap mountains off in the distance. Little things like text messages from Jessica saying "je miss le you" and quiet evenings at Starbucks and grocery shopping at Meinhardt's Gourmet Grocery and listening to the same Duffy song over and over and over again. Little things like soaking in a warm bubble bath on a Sunday evening while watching Breakfast at Tiffany's on my laptop. (The laptop was on the bathroom counter, far away from the tub - don't worry! I didn't have it in the tub with me, lol).
Just random thoughts on my heart tonight. I hope wherever you are in the world tonight, you're feeling as blessed as I am.
sending lots of love your way

Oh Oreo.
Reason #451 why I love living where I do ... you get a craving for Oreo cookies (as I did tonight) and you just walk around the corner to the grocery store on Broadway and buy some. *sigh* It never gets old. When you grow up in a super small town like I did, little things like that just seem sooooooo great. I love the city! lol
So, aside from stuffing my face with cookies as I watch the Food Network, I've been busy spending quality time with my friends and enjoying these last few days of summer. The past few weeks have been full of pot luck dinners, board game nights, lazy beach days and of course 9-5 work. I have to admit, though - I'm ready for summer to come to an end. I'm ready for autumn, I'm ready for Thanksgiving, I'm ready sweaters and rain boots and Sunday afternoons at Starbucks sipping pumpkin spiced lattes. It's been such a beautiful, fun-filled summer ... but I'm ready for the next season. Bring it on!
I'll be taking a little break from blogging until next week. I just have an insanely busy week ahead of me - potluck and movie night with friends tomorrow, Dave's birthday party on Wednesday, packing on Thursday and going camping this weekend on Vancouver Island. I'm exhausted just thinking about!
So I'll see you all next week with some exciting blog-related news!
love and hugs xox

currently.
Currently, right at this very moment, I am having a "me" day. I woke up this morning and it was pouring rain outside, so I decided to make myself a tea, plop myself down in the living room and spend the day reading, journaling and maybe watching a movie. So far, it's been glorious. I have my living room window wide open and can hear the traffic outside on the street splashing through the rain ... I honestly think that's one of my favorite sounds, ever. What else am I up to currently?
Well, I'm currently reading the novel On Beauty by Zadie Smith. I've been wanting to read this book for awhile but never got around to picking it up at Chapters. When my mom was out here for a visit, she surprised me with a copy. Thanks Momma! It's really a wonderful read. It's about two feuding African-American families - the Belseys (liberal, atheist, dealing with the aftermath of Howard Belsey's affair with another woman) and the Kipps (ultra-conservative, very religious, desperate to maintain their image as a picture perfect family no matter what the cost). When one of the Belsey sons falls for one of the Kipps girls, the two families find themselves trying to establish common ground and, in doing so, begin to question their own beliefs, positions and attitudes. It's a book about class, race, gender and religion. Fascinating, right? I think so!
I'm currently listening to the band Hey Ocean! on repeat on my iPod. My friends Jen and Roland heard them perform at the Vancouver Jazz Festival, bought their CD, lent it to me and have made me a huge fan. They're so fantastic and I love love love that they're an independent, local band. Their songs often reference streets and landmarks in my neighborhood, and that just makes me smile. Their sound is a little bit whimsical folksy ... a little bit rock and roll. Think Norah Jones meets Amy Winehouse. I really like all their songs, but I think my favorites are Fish (listen here) and their acoustic version of The Beatboxer Who Broke My Heart (listen here).
I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect bookcase. My books are starting to overflow and are piled up by my bed, my dresser, in the living room ... pretty much everywhere. It's time to get a proper bookcase for them. Fingers crossed that I'm able to find one that's affordable and stylish!
What are you guys up to at the moment?

Days Like These ...
I had such a lovely Sunday yesterday. I spent the afternoon with some of my favorite friends hanging out on The Main - a hippie, vintage neighborhood full of consignment shops and vegan restaurants. We spotted some yummy street vendors selling food, and treated ourselves to some traditional Japanese Osaka balls ... mmm mmm good ...
Later in the evening, we grabbed dinner at a fab restaraunt where there was a live band playing. Usually, I'm not a fan of eating dinner with live music - I find it stifles conversation and makes the evening a little less enjoyable - but this band was so freakin' amazing that I wanted to sit there and listen to them all night! It was like magic. :)

I'm a Birthday Girl

It's hard to believe that this is my last night as a twenty-three year old. Tomorrow morning when I wake up, I'll wake up to a whole new year of life that's like a blank canvas just waiting to be painted. Year 23 was such a roller coaster year with incredible up's and down's and too many twists and turns. It was a year of illness and a year of goodbyes and a year of drastic changes. I've grown up a lot over the past twelve months and even though I'm proud of the woman I've become, I'm looking forward to turning the page and starting fresh.
My birthday is so bittersweet for me this year. For starters, it's the first birthday EVER that I am spending away from home. Luckily, my amazing church friends are planning a birthday surprise so the day won't be uneventful ... but it's still difficult to be celebrating without the family I love so much. On a happier note, I've got a feeling that 24 might just be my best year yet. I am in such a happy place emotionally, spiritually and physically ... some mornings I wake up and literally pinch myself because I just can't believe how lovely my life is. What does year 24 have in store for me? I'm not sure, but hopefully I'll be able to check some of these goals off my birthday list --
1. Attend a yoga class.
2. Go to Alberta (specifically Lake Louise and Calgary).
3. Go hiking.
4. Try my hand at camping.
5. Journal a little every day.
6. Go to Salt Lake City.
7. Join the Vancouver Public Library.
8. Join (or start) a book club.
9. Read at least 24 books this year.
10. Take The Great Commission a little more seriously.
11. Walk across the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.
12. Go to Seattle again, and this time spend less time shopping & more time exploring the city.
13. Take a class (or two) at Regeant College.
14. Make mix tapes for fun.
15. Randomly surprise my sister with a spa getaway!
16. Get my tattoo.
17. Love people more, judge people less.
18. Bake a dessert from scratch (not including cupcakes or cookies)
19. Finish scrapbooking my Olympic photos.
20. Make four new friends. :)
21. Save up enough money to buy myself a Digital SLR camera
22. Budget better
23. Buy pretty stationary and write (and mail!) at least 2 handwritten letters a month
24. Begin each day with the expectation that something delightful is going to happen.
Happy birthday to me & happy Sunday to you!

The girl wears lipstick

I bought lipstick today. Maybelline Moisture Extreme in "Nude Blush" to be exact. The last time I purchased lipstick, I was twelve and on a cosmetics shopping spree with my Nana (a retired makeup artist and cosmetician). She told me that every girl needed red lipstick, so I bought one. I never wore it, though. I found lipstick (any color, any shade) made me look old, so for years my makeup bag was full of glosses and scented lip balms, but no lipstick. Just that one bottle of red Revlon lipstick from 1998 that I never wore and eventually threw out because it started to smell funny. I didn't even wear lipstick to prom, and EVERYBODY wears lipstick to prom.
Today, one of my co-workers was touching up her makeup at her desk and she asked me if I had any lipstick she could borrow. (Note to readers: that's a stupid thing to ask a girl with bronchitis. Don't try that at home.) I told her I didn't wear lipstick and she asked why.
The conversation went something like this:
"I tried it when I was twelve and it made me look old."
"Well, lipstick wasn't made for twelve year olds."
"Yeah but ..."
"Yeah but what? You're a grown up now. You should give it a second chance."
So after work, I went to London Drugs and bought lipstick. And then I skipped home like a giddy school girl and ran into my bathroom and tried it on. And you know what? It didn't make me look old. It didn't make me look like Cindy Crawford, either, but it did make me look a little more sophisticated and polished. As I puckered my lips together in front of the mirror, I decided that I kind of liked lipstick after all.
Just one more thing to add to the list of discoveries I'm making about the woman I'm becoming living here by the sea.

Vancouver Randoms ♥
things I have fallen in love with since moving to Vancouver ...

1. Numi Monkey King Organic Tea ... especially the jasmine green tea flavor
Seriously. Where has this tea been all my life? I've always been a die-hard Earl Gray girl, but this tea is the by far the most delicious tea I've ever had.
2. Jason Castro and Justin Bieber music.
These two artists couldn't be more different, but I love 'em both. Jason Castro has the best love songs (download Let's Fall In Love Again and tell me it's not the most adorable thing you've ever heard) and Justin Bieber just makes me feel 13 years again. I like to play Jason's album while I'm cooking dinner and I play Justin's album when I'm getting all dolled up to go out. Fun times!
3. Walking in the rain.
I don't even carry an umbrella with me anymore! I just love getting caught in the rain, splashing around in puddles, searching the sky for rainbows. I know it sounds crazy, but I love getting home totally drenched, getting into cozy PJ's and warming myself up with a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
4. Lululemon Athletica
Some of you may know that Lululemon (a company that makes yoga and workout gear) began as a little business in Vancouver. What you might not realize is that here in Vancouver, and especially in my neighborhood because the huge flagship store is right near my apartment, everybody wears Lululemon stuff! There's even a joke among locals that you can tell how long a person has lived in Vancouver by asking them how many pairs of Lululemon pants they own. At first, I told myself I wasn't going to give in to this trend and become a Lulu junkie. But then one day, on a whim, I went into the store ... and now I'm hooked.
5. My big sister
Oh, of course I loved her oodles before moving here ... but she has really been my hero these past three months. She's gone above and beyond for me and done so much to help me settle in and make a home for myself. Even though she was crazy busy working for the Olympics, she made me a priority and made time to be there for me. I don't think I would have made it without her. I am blessed to come from such a supportive, committed family.
... This list continues to grow, so I'll post more random things I love soon.

Day at the Beach
It has been pouring rain in Vancouver for the past two days, but today the sun FINALLY decided to come out and play! I had plans to do some cleaning and paper work today, but when I saw how gorgeous it was outside I couldn't bring myself to do. I ended up spending most of my day here:

Kits Beach, just a few blocks from my apartment. I'm still in awe that I was able to go to the beach in January! It was too cold to go swimming, but people were out on the water with kayaks and canoes ... lots of people walking their dogs and playing with their kids. It was a lovely afternoon.
I'm still struggling with homesickness, but it's gotten better. I have found a wonderful church community, so that's been really helpful, and tonight I'm meeting a potential roommate for coffee. We're going to discuss things like our rent budget and our general lifestyles to find out if we're really compatible. If we are, we're going to start looking for a new 2-bedroom apartment in the same neighborhood I'm in now. Long story short - I'm NOT a big fan of living on my own, and my land-lady turned out to be a little bit crazy. Hopefully tonight's conversation will go well and I'll be living in a new place by February 1st. Wish me luck!
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
I miss everyone muchos.

City Life.

I'm sorry I've been M.I.A. in blog-land recently ... I'm just trying to adjust to living on my own in a new city and haven't had much time to post anything of interest. My mom left to go back to Montreal on Thursday, and I've been missing her terribly. Yesterday was a particularly rough day with lots of "oh my gosh, what have I done?" moments. But today is a new day, and I'm feeling better. Hopefully it gets easier from here on out ....
Haven't had much time to scrapbook, but I did get in touch with a local scrapbooking group here. I'm waiting to hear back from the organizer to find out exactly where and when they meet, and hopefully I'll be able to attend a few of their crops and events. It'll be nice to make some scrappy friends. I'm also investigating the local scrapbook stores. Turns out there's a place called Scrapbook Warehouse which seems to be pretty close to me, so I'll be making a little road trip down there for sure! There's an Omar DeSerres near my apartment, but they only have one row of scrapbooking supplies and after the abundance of stuff at Scrapbook Star, one measly little row just isn't going to cut it!
Anyways, I need to go out and get groceries but I wanted to update you all on how things are going. I miss everyone and hope that life in Montreal (or where ever you're reading from) is going well.

Goodbye Montreal

It is pretty insane to think that I'm leaving Montreal *forever* in just 7 short days! So weird to be holding a one-way ticket (literally!) with my name on it ... that's the kind of thing you hear about in songs and movies and novels, but you never really imagine that it will ever happen to you.
People have been asking me what I think I'll miss most about not living here anymore. I'm not sure. Obviously, I'll miss my family and my friends. I'll miss my morning coffee dates at Starbucks with Jessica. I'll miss my scrap days and chick flick afternoons with Catherine. I'll miss the 45-minute drive into the city with my mommy each morning. I'll miss the frozen fried ice-cream at 3 Amigos restaurant, the third floor of the Concordia Library with its rows and rows of theology books, the breath-taking sight of the rows of golden cornfields near my house in the fall, strolling through the Old Port in the summertime, spontaneous road trips to Applebee's, family BBQ's every weekend in the summer. I'll miss the familiarity of it all.
I know that I will make new memories and traditions in Vancouver and I'm crazy crazy excited to find out what life will be like once I've settled into my new home. But, tonight, I'm just going to take a little time to be nostalgic and think about all I've been blessed with over the past 23 years.
Goodbye, Montreal.
You've been good to me, but it's time for us to part.

Key Lime Pie ♥
I know. I'm becoming a bit of a blog post-a-holic, aren't I? *sigh* Guess this is what happens when you have lots of random things on your mind and nobody around who wants to listen to your tangents. (Just kidding. My friends listen to my tangents all the time with incredibly patient smiles & nods ... love you guys!)
So, it's time I come of the closet and admit that I'm a foodie. I am a complete and utter food nerd. Yesterday, I almost bought a book on the History of French Cuisine. (No ... not French Cuisine recipes, a history book about the origins of some of the most popular French recipes!) I actually spend my Sunday afternoons reading cookbooks ... ask Tara, she'll tell you all about it. Anywhoo ... here's another random fact you might not know about me: I love key lime pie. It's actually my favorite dessert. I also love lemon meringue pie, traditional Southern coconut cake (Louisiana style, y'all) ... raspberry sorbet, cheesecake with a drizzle of blueberry puree. Yum. I think I've gained ten pounds just thinking about my favorite desserts. :o)
Tonight I read this awesome article by Michele Humes called What's Wrong With Chocolate. *hehe* ... I have to say, she's got some valid points. What's so great about chocolate, anyway? Give me lemons over cocoa any day. Oh, don't get me wrong - I love a delicious brownie every now and then, but I think it's time chocolate stepped aside and let zesty desserts have their well-deserved moment of fame.
You can read Michele's article here.
Let me know what you think ... are you a chocoholic or a lemon-head???

Soooo Excited .....

One of my favorite singer/songwriters is Chris Tomlin. He is just such an awesome man AND he is incredibly talented too. I literally screamed with excitement when I saw that his Hello Love Tour was coming to Montreal. Christian artists almost NEVER come to Montreal so when they do, it's a huge deal for me.
He will be leading worship at L'Eglise Nouvelle Vie in Longueuil on Thursday, October 1st. Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of their religious background .... for Christians, this is an opportunity to celebrate God and sing praises to Him ... for non-Christians, this is a great chance to see a really talented guy in concert.
Anyway, I really encourage you to come ... it will be an awesome, memorable night and I promise it will be an experience you'll always remember! I went to see Hillsong when they came to Montreal two summers ago and I am STILL talking about it. Tara (who didn't even want to go to Hillsong) now says it was the best musical event she has ever attended. So trust me ... you'll want to be there for Chris Tomlin!!
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door and are available here.
If you're interested in coming, email me and we can plan to meet up and go together. It's general admission, so it doesn't matter when you buy your tickets; we can still sit together.
You can listen to some of his songs on YouTube ....
Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone
I Will Rise
Indescribable
In other news, I promise to post some scrapbook pages this weekend! I have a scrapbook night planned with Catherine tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have lots of creativity to share on Sunday.

Boo to the Hoo

** CAUTION: Pity Party Alert ... Pity Party Alert**
I am sick. I've got the sniffles and a headache and I'm just grumpy and tired and overall pretty miserable. Whenever I'm feeling under the weather, I always joke that I don't have time to be sick ... but this time, I really mean it! I don't have time for this. My sister flies in tonight from Vancouver for a two week visit, and I have soooooo much to do before she arrives. I have to clean and bake and try to make my sick self look presentable. I also need to work on my Honours essay and begin reading my textbooks for school. (Yeah, I'm a nerd. I always try to read ahead). Oh, and it's also FREEZING here. I'm wearing winter PJ's and my slippers, and sipping on hot tea ... and I'm still cold!!! *sigh*
